With an Ivy-League law degree and more than a decade of courtroom experience, Mr. Altman is an aggressive trial lawyer known for putting his clients first.
“I’ve built my career on putting my clients first. My partner and I have devoted our lives to making people whole after being robbed of their health, financial stability and the ability to care for themselves.”
Mr. Altman has obtained millions of dollars for car accident victims, even when the client was at fault.
He knows that his clients are in desperate need of help. With mounting bills and the inability to work, he gets them quick relief – even when the cards seem stacked against them.
“My job is to tell a story. A story that convinces others of the physical, emotional and financial hardships that my clients have had to endure because of someone’s carelessness.”
Many of Mr. Altman’s clients suffer nerve damage, brain injuries and debilitating orthopedic conditions. His familiarity with these conditions, vigor in the courtroom, and respect in the legal community have helped him obtain millions of dollars for these clients.
Mr. Altman also devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing victims of motor vehicle and motorcycle accidents, vicious dog bites and attacks, unsafe premises conditions (including trip-and-falls) and Social Security Disability (SSD) claims.
Mr. Altman’s success has received attention. In 2013-2017, he was selected as one of the “Top Attorneys in Michigan” and a “Rising Star” based on peer recognition and professional achievement, an achievement that was published in The New York Times. He has also been selected as one of the “Top 10 under 40” by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys for 2013-2015, as well as a 2013-2016 “Michigan Rising Star” in Super Lawyers Magazine and Hour Detroit. Mr. Altman was also recognized as one of “Michigan’s Top Lawyers” in Personal Injury for 2015. In 2016, Mr. Altman was honored as a “Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyer” in the State of Michigan by the American Society of Legal Advocates, an organization that recognizes the top 1.5% of lawyers nationally.
Mr. Altman is licensed in Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He began his career at the multinational law firm Cozen O’Connor, where he litigated multi-million dollar cases involving automobile accidents, legal malpractice claims, contract disputes, entertainment law and real estate matters. He tried cases to verdict, and recovered millions in arbitration awards.
Mr. Altman studied at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law and Wharton Business School. He obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. As a law student, Mr. Altman had the honor of interning for the Chief Judge of the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder.
